Business and home computing

XMAS 1984 and only a month after the release of the Commodore 16 the Commodore +4 was born. It was an attempt at a QL- type machine with 64k of memeory and four business applications squeezed onto a 32k ROM chip. The machine plummeted between the two stools of business and home computing and the applications were far too crude for business use. Because the +4 wasn't compatible with the Commodore 64 it didn't have a ready supply of games and was only compatible with the Commodore 16, but seeing as that only had an inadequate 16k of memory, it was destined for oblivion. As a gamer the Plus4 spent most of it's life as a Commodore 16 because many game's were around 15k which covered both machines in one sell.

The Commodore PLUS/4 was the first computer ever desinged especially for productivity applications!
